| About the Barge
New Owners, Alasdair & Barbara Wyllie, would like to welcome you aboard The Saint Louis for a cruise through the beautiful heartland of south west France There is so much to do, so much to see, and we pride ourselves on being able to take the extra effort to personalise the cruise holiday around the real wishes of our individual clients. We have a quality air-conditioned support vehicle; this is used for transfers to and from the boat and for all the excursions and visits you choose to make during your holiday. Our vessel, the Saint Louis is gorgeous and well-maintained – no question. It is thirty meters (about 100 feet) long and was lovingly converted to carry just six passengers in the greatest of comfort. There are three cabin suites for six family members or friends. The Saint Louis is air-conditioned throughout and the décor will remind you of a fine home. In fact, it is your home away from home. |

Cruise Highlights
The history and the architecture of this area is breathtaking, with a wealth of Roman and Mediaeval buildings. We can guide you to these places, or we can help you enjoy a wide range of activities on-board and on-shore, we can take you to wine tastings at some of the best vineyards in France, or you can simply sit back and relax on the terrace deck watching the world slip slowly by. The Saint Louis is based in the South West of France and cruises on the Canal Lateral à la Garonne. The Saint Louis will cruise west from Toulouse through the beautiful rolling hills and countryside. Highlights may include Moissac (City of Roman Art), many Bastides ( Mediaeval fortified towns), various Chateaux, the aqueducts at Moissac and Agen ( crossed over on the barge), as well as 5 Goya masterpieces on display in Agen. Ask for specific cruise details on your dates. |
| Wining and Dining
The people of south west France have three passions - food, wine and rugby football. We share all three passions, but can only provide two of them on board the The Saint Louis! On board the The Saint Louis, the French food tradition has become an integral part of the barging experience. Whether you eat in the wood-panelled saloon or alfresco on deck, the cuisine will remind you that you are in a part of the world where food is treated lovingly and seriously. The superb food on board is very largely based on traditional recipes from this region of France, with ingredients sourced fresh from local suppliers on a daily basis. Magret, foie gras, and seafood are thus among the basics of the cuisine. The food, and the ambiance, will be added to with a twist of our native Scotland. Dietary wishes and special dietary needs are always well catered for. |

Breakfasts are Continental-style, with croissants and
bread arriving each morning still warm from the baker's oven.
Sometimes we will find ourselves close to one of the many very special French restaurants, and we may take you there at our expense to sample the range and quality enjoyed by the people here. The wines on board will be excellent quality wines selected largely from local vineyards, including some wonderful examples from Gaillac and Fronton, and of course a selection of wines from the Bordeaux region. Local liqueurs will be well represented in the bar also, with a range of Armagnacs and Flocs de Gasgogne. The bar will also stock a number of distinctive high quality malt whiskies from Scotland. |
