About the barge

No expense has been spared in the building of this fine little ship to provide one the most well equiped barges on the waterways.

You can now share the cruising experience on Saul Nomad in the south of France with cruises in the Camargue, Provence and Midi regions. Short sea passages may also be scheduled.

Cruise Highlights

The Camargue stretches both sides of the canal with its flamingos and wild horses. Les Saintes Marie de la Mer is where the local 'gauchos' hold their religious services. Further visits to Nimes, Arles, the Pont du Gard, Avignon are also possible.

This is a great way to visit the region.

Licenced for Sea Going passages for up to 20 miles off shore. 
2002 built 1930's replica welded Steel hull, with Solid Timber Internal Fit Out. Pine T&G bulk and deck heads, Varnished Utile hardwood furniture (A member of the Sapele family which looks like a widegrained lighter shade of mahogany), and varnished Pitch Pine Floors. No MDF or Furniture made with Plywood. (Plywood not invented until 1949...even though our fitout completed in 2005!). 
Fully fire resistant foam insulated. 
Every compartment with individual digital climate control, airconditioned hot and cold.
